Sync & Backup

How your data syncs across devices and how to back up your contacts.

How iCloud sync works

Nexus Contacts uses your iCloud account to sync data across your devices. Your contacts, notes, reminders, and selfie photos are stored in your personal iCloud — never on Common Nexus servers.

Make sure iCloud is enabled for Nexus Contacts in your device's Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Apps Using iCloud.

Using Nexus Contacts on multiple devices

Install Nexus Contacts on any iPhone or iPad signed into the same iCloud account. Your data syncs automatically — including selfie photos, context notes, reminders, and ShareCards.

Changes made on one device appear on all others within minutes.

Understanding contact storage

Your contacts may be stored across different accounts — iCloud, Google, Exchange, or locally on device. The Storage Analysis view shows you this breakdown.

Contacts stored only locally are not backed up. The audit will flag these so you can move them to iCloud.
